2026-10-01 MOTD: Leoš Janáček - Sinfonietta

Leoš Janáček wrote some lovely music. I was like just about everybody else first introduced to this through the Murakami book 1Q84 (which I would recommend!)
His operas aren't bad either, though the amount of repeating of lines he does drives me crazy. When I first watched Jenůfa, I hated it just for the repeated lines alone. In hindsight I think it's quite a good opera, but in the moment it can be painful.
His Sinfonietta has a lot of repetition too but it's more enjoyable.
